Step Up To Quality Specialist, Southwestern Ohio
Purpose of Job: |
To assist programs as they work to improve the quality of the care they provide to children and families and to support programs in achieving and maintaining a Step Up To Quality Star Rating. |
Qualifications: |
A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to a bachelor degree in early childhood education or a social service field; at least three years of experience in early childhood education.
- Record of successful supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication, data management, and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to relate to a broad spectrum of community organizations, child care providers, and funders.
- Reliable transportation required.

Key Areas
of Responsibility: |
- Implement all activities of the project according to established criteria, including working with OCCRRA and ODJFS staff on the delivery of services.
- Provide technical assistance to programs to improve the quality of care following OCCRRA TA protocol.
- Develop and maintain child care resources for programs who are in SUTQ.
- Assist in the delivery of appropriate professional development opportunities based on the needs of the programs and/or community.
- Complete regular statistical reporting for SUTQ.
- Assist in the coordination of agency reporting and data management.
- Represent agency at various meetings as assigned.

| Purpose of Job: |
To coordinate the activities of Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) throughout the 10-county Miami Valley region and support centers as they work to improve the quality of the care they provide to children and families. |
| Qualifications: |
- Combination of education and experience in early childhood education or a social service field; at least three years of experience in project management and supervision.
- Excellent communication, data management, and record-keeping skills
- Ability to relate to a broad spectrum of community organizations, child care providers, and funders.
- Reliable transportation required

| Key Areas of Responsibility: |
- Coordinate all activities of the project according to established criteria, including working with OCCRRA staff on the delivery of services
- Coordinate promotional activities with ODJFS SUTQ specialists
- Schedule ECERS visits with centers that are admitted into the system
- Provide technical assistance to centers on improving the quality of their programs to meet the SUTQ criteria
- Recruit consultants to conduct the ECERS visits
- Supervise consultants on use of the ECERS
- Train appropriate 4C staff on all SUTQ criteria including resources available to centers, staff and parents
- Manage the registry database including collection, entering and reporting data
- Manage the funding request process for CDFF and ELR grants
- Develop and maintain child care resources for centers
- Complete regular statistical reporting for SUTQ
- Assist in the coordination of agency reporting and data management

Child Care Counselor

Under the supervision of the Director, to carry out the program of the Child Care Resource and Referral Service. |
| Qualifications: |
- BS/BA in Early Childhood Education or higher and related experience preferred.
- Ability to relate to a broad spectrum of parents and child care providers.
- Excellent communication skills and record keeping skills.
- Solid computer skills required.
- Reliable transportation required.

| Key Areas of Responsibility: |
- Provides counseling and referrals on the selection of child care and on parenting issues.
- Updates child care resources, collects and tabulates data, and conducts follow-up interviews with parents.
- Manage assigned employer/special contracts.
- Participates in community outreach activities and agency projects as needed.
